My husband and I memorised the whole of 1 Corinthians 13 together a few years ago with some hilarious results. He would often forget all except, 'love never fails'. When we would recite the the passage over breakfast he would get forgetful somewhere near the middle. "Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud..." For each of the love statements he would proudly insert "never fails!" - hoping against hope to be right by mere odds of saying it. 

I love this passage and the essence has become "Love is patient, love is kind" - I think of this from two points of view. 1. I feel that God expresses this to me, and 2. It's how I pray God helps me relate to my children.
